As Copenhagen welcomes another edition of 3daysofDesign, we spoke with Rose Hermansen, founder of Atelier Axo, about studio life, current projects and this year's festival. Photos by Sidsel Alling.

ON STUDIO LIFE

“There’s rarely such a thing as a typical day in the studio.

Our work moves between client meetings, material sourcing, site visits, furniture development and sketching new ideas. One moment we're discussing a door handle, the next we're thinking about the atmosphere of an entire space. Working across different scales keeps every project — and every day — interesting.”

ON WHAT'S NEXT

“At the moment, we’re working on a small café in Frederiksberg and the redesign of Charlottenborg’s main entrance.

They are very different projects, both in scale and character, which makes it exciting to move between them. One is intimate and detail-oriented, while the other engages with a historic institution and a public audience.

We love projects that challenge us in different ways and allow us to move between architecture, interiors, and atmosphere.”

ON 3DAYSOFDESIGN

“We’re excited to launch our new collaborations with Audo Copenhagen and BoConcept during this year’s festival.

After spending so much time developing a project, it’s always a special moment to finally share it with the world."
